Where the boys are, uh, were.

B is gone. In the literal sense, not the forever sense. He's taken off for the summer with my mom and my nephew. They are traversing the western half of the U.S. in a motorhome. We won't see him again until August when we meet up with them at Crater Lake, OR on the way to our family reunion just outside of Portland. You can read about their adventures here.

Mom and NOM (nephew o'mine) actually started their vacation a bit earlier than B when they arrived at our house. There was lots of skateboarding for the boys plus a Blues baseball game. Mom pretty much spent her time learning laptop stuff and blowing up electronic things in the motorhome.

On Father's Day, Daddy-O surprised B by fulfilling one of his most begged for excursions... climbing a volcano. He took both B and NOM to climb Bishop's Peak.

This is B's friend, B and NOM at the peak overlooking San Luis Obispo. Unfortunately, it wasn't a super clear day.

But it was still nice enough to get a decent shot of San Luis Mountain, too.

This is my favorite picture, however. Can you see the teeny, tiny little hiker on the next rock over? I really like how small nature makes you feel.

P.S. I can't wait to throw away all B's crap now that he's out of the State and can't stomp his feet in frustration claiming that each and every rock, torn or crumpled bit of school work and empty Fruit By The Foot paper (which still smells good. Duh, Mom!) is irreplaceable and must be kept!

Cool picture. We do not have views like that here :(

OH I know what you mean about throwing things away. You HAVE to do it when they are not home. That way nothing comes back!
